The shift toward robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence are about to create a tsunami of unemployment according to Andrew Yang. It’s not about the future. It’s happening now. Yang predicts that 45 million American workers will lose their jobs within the next twelve years. What will happen to American society? The consequences of these trends are already being felt across our communities. Entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial thinking can help reshape what we consider work. Bio: Dr. Poor is currently the Scott Hamilton Endowed Professor of Entrepreneurship in the College of Business Administration at Bowling Green State University. Dr. Poor has received recognition as a Master Teacher by the University, which is considered the highest teaching honor on campus. He has written numerous articles and authored eight books on technology, business, and creativity/ innovation. He has made hundreds of presentations throughout the United States as well as in Europe and in the Middle East. His list of consultations includes dozens of Fortune 100 abd 500 companies including 3M, Honeywell, Marathon Oil, Owens Corning, IBM, Sherwin Williams, and Kellogg. Dr. Poor has been involved in numerous entrepreneurial start-ups over a forty-year period. His most exciting entrepreneurial activity is LifeFormations, which is a preeminent manufacturer of life-like animated characters. Millions of people have experienced and enjoyed LifeFormations’ products at such venues as The Walt Disney Company, Universal Studios, The Great Wolf Lodges, and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.
