Recognizing and Preventing Microaggressions in the Workplace
Description:
Microaggressions contribute to feelings of exclusion from the workplace by marginalized people. Leaders, managers and employees often commit microaggressions in the workplace in their efforts to connect with people, to be humorous, and even in failed attempts to compliment others.
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
Gain an understanding of what a microaggression is and what it looks like in the workplace
Examine how different types of microaggressions impact working relationships
The program addresses Business Skills and Interpersonal Skills on the ATD Competency Model.
